As of last week Congress has passed a law extending the state waters of Alabama from 3 to 9 miles. This law only addresses reef fish such as RED SNAPPER, LANE SNAPPER, TRIGGER FISH, BEELINER SNAPPER AND GREATER AMBERJACK. This was a long, hard fought battle, but the outcome was well worth it.
What does this mean to you as a customer and FINATICS FISHING CHARTERS? EVERYTHING!!!! We are now able to target these reef fish inside the 9 mile line, and there are plenty. There are many advantages to using us over the larger head boats. Here are just a few!
- We are faster and that means more fishing time and less travel to and from fishing grounds.
- When you charter with us, you charter the boat and then you are not fishing with people you do not know.
- More options, meaning if we catch out limit on SNAPPER and your arms hurt, we have the option of coming inshore and hooking some speckled trout or redfish. That’s something the larger boats can’t offer.
- WEATHER OPTIONS: There are many days it’s just too rough to fish offshore while the inshore waters are just fine to fish. When chartering FINATICS FISHING CHARTERS, your odds are much better for getting your fishing trip in. For example, you have booked a SNAPPER trip months in advance. If it’s too rough and you have booked a larger boat, at no fault of theirs, you just don’t get to fish. With us we just switch our gear and head out for the INSHORE fish that Mobile Bay is famous for year round.
These are just a few of the reasons to consider FINATICS FISHING CHARTERS for your trip this coming year. SNAPPER season will start June 1st and will end on Sept 2nd. It is open on weekends only, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. in addition to the weekends the season will be open July 2nd - 5th 2018.
